PROVIDING BEEF THAT BENEFITS NATURE
Welcome to Kamilaroi Cattle Company, a family-owned grass-grazed cattle company, located West of Tamworth, New South Wales. At Kamilaroi, we take pride in our deep-rooted commitment to sustainable and ethical farming practices that focus on managing our landscapes while growing top- quality beef.
Founded with a passion for providing the finest beef directly to consumers, Kamilaroi Cattle Company embraces the picturesque landscapes of Tamworth, NSW where our cattle graze on a diverse range of pastures. We believe in the power of grass-grazing, allowing our cattle to thrive on a natural diet that imparts a unique flavour and nutritional richness to our beef.
Kamilaroi: Also known as Gamilaroi, Gomeroi, Kamilaroi, Kamillaroi and other variations, are an Aboriginal Australian people whose lands extend from New South Wales to southern Queensland.
Our Beef
Experience the difference of Kamilaroi Cattle Company beef – a direct pathway from our pastures to your plate. When you choose our beef straight from the paddock, you're not just getting meat – you're becoming part of our farming story and most importantly supporting local agriculture.
Our cattle are moved into fresh pastures multiple times a day engaging in a natural and healthy grass-grazing routine. This approach not only ensures the welfare of our livestock but also contributes to the unique flavour profile and nutritional richness that defines our beef.

Our Grazing
With a focus on improving landscapes and ecological diversity, grazing management is a major part of Kamilaroi Cattle Company. Grazing animals in high densities via the use of electric fencing allows us to mimic a natural grazing routine of herd animals, otherwise known as the “herd effect.” The herd effect occurs when large herds of animals graze across landscapes with predators keeping them herded while constantly moving.
The hoof impact, along with a high density of manure and urine, is followed by a long recovery period where the animal would not return for 1-2 years depending on rainfall. This allows for landscape regeneration where plants can fully recover, set seed, and put roots down deep, all while sequestering carbon in the soil. By improving and managing our landscapes using minimal fossil fuels and external inputs, we can ensure a healthy and sustainable future for all.

Our Cattle
With an Angus base infused with indigenous African genetics from Tuli and Mashona, our herd of cattle is bred to suit the environmental conditions of Australia. Not only do they have outstanding meat quality, but they also thrive in our Australian conditions year-round. While Angus is a household name, our breed improvements retain meat quality while enhancing the animals' adaptation to our environment through genetic selection and hybrid vigor. We are able to lower our herd's environmental hoofprint, meaning we can grow more beef on less grass!
Our animals are free of any blanket treatments of vaccines or antibiotics. We only use pharmaceuticals when the well-being and health of the animal are at risk.
We invest in the best minerals for our livestock, and we provide a free-choice sea mineral salt from the Sea of Cortez, Baja Mexico. It's one of the purest, mineral-rich oceans in the world. This ensures that when livestock are unable to extract the minerals they need from pasture, they can balance these minerals with the salt. By maintaining an optimum mineral balance in our cattle, we have happy and healthy animals, which translates to nutrient-dense beef for you!
